“The work on the reconstruction of public lighting in City of Buzet area is at the end“. According to the project approved by the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency more than seven hundred existing lamps will be replaced with new modern highly efficient LED lights. Works were done in late September, and the total investment amounts to 2.350.000 kunas.
The first phase was done in 2012.
Based on the public call for immediate co-financing of the implementation of the energy efficient and eco public lighting project, the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency approved to invest 59.57 percent of the eligible costs, but totally not more than 1.4 million kunas. City of Buzet will provide rest of the financial resources needed for the project from savings realized in consumption over the next 77 months, says Iris Jakac, associate for the budget and the economy in the relevant city department.
This is the second phase of the project which started in 2012 when the City of Buzet used 1.6 million kunas to replace existing non-ecological lamps with ecological and thereby reduce energy consumption, as well as the maintenance costs of public lighting and light „pollution“ too.
